Hesperios Journal is an anthology of classic and contemporary art, science, and literature. Edited in New York by Autumn Hrubý, printed by Göteborgstryckeriet and designed in Stockholm, Sweden, by Henrik Nygren Design. Hesperios Journal is dedicated to publishing the most compelling voices of our time.

Since its founding in 2016, it has firmly established itself as one of America’s most innovative cultural journals, and has received extensive coverage in both print and online media. We hope that each issue of the Journal builds upon the last. Read together, they serve as a record of the Hesperios community and of the cultural landscape. The journals are distributed internationally through art-and-design book stores, galleries, newsstands, and museums.

HESPERIOS JOURNAL NO.1: EUDAIMONIA

“The ancient Greeks called that part of the horizon where the sun rose, Eos, and where it set, Hesperios, ‘the evening star.’”
—from Eudaimonia

“To enhance life is one of the great functions of art, and books enhance my life continually.”
—Erik Heywood

The issue that gave birth to the whole Hesperios family: Hesperios Journal No.1: Memory. Includes an interview with the ever-inspiring, Jim Drain, as well as the first contributions from long-time friends of Hesperios, Stella Berkofsky, Erik Heywood, and Diane Stockton.

HESPERIOS JOURNAL NO.2: MEMORY

“Do you know that feeling when you are almost alone, floating between time and space and the glow of your soul shows through your skin, when you are left naked to breathe and all you can think about is life?”
—Chris Fischer

“When you are creating from nothing, you definitely need strength and empowerment within yourself, because you are the one who shapes the future.”
—Mitsuo Katsui

The second issue of Hesperios Journal. Includes an interview with the inimitable Mitsuo Katsui, as well as artwork from Gustaf von Arbin, words from Dan Lardner, and photographs from Marcelo Gomes.

HESPERIOS JOURNAL NO.3: FOUNDATIONS

“When I think ‘foundations of modern civilization,’ I think men, men, men. And how it’s all just baloney to help them get it up.”
—Miranda July

“It was a long time ago—Barcelona, love, lemon trees—and even longer since the dogwood flourished on the city terrace of my youth.”
—Tarajia Morrell

Here, we present new work from writer and artist, Miranda July; two wonderful interviews with two wonderful, celebrated chefs, Daniel Berlin and Claus Meyer; as well as poetry from Mandy Khan, Veronica Martin, and Geoffrey Movius.
