Andalusia / No. 038
The shape of our Andalusia skirt is inspired by the outfit worn by female Flamenco performers from the Andalusia region in Southern Spain. The long style with a pleated hem is soft and fluid, made from 100% pima cotton. With hidden pockets and an elasticized waist, this pairs beautifully with our Francis cardigan.

Like other great capitals of the pre-modern era, Sevilla reached grand heights when, under the ʿAbbādid dynasty, it was home to a diversity of peoples and religions. When the Spanish Christians under Ferdinand III banished the Jewish and Muslim populations, the prosperity of the city suffered. Grand buildings remain, however—one of the legacies of the flourishing capital of the ʿAbbādid—and include the Alcázar Palace. Seville continued to produce significant artists even as the general fortunes of the city rose and fell. These include the painters Diego Velázquez and Francisco de Zurbarán, and the writer Miguel de Cervantes.
